Possible errors when starting the measurement can be for example that the previous measurement is still on-going, preparing the device for a new assessment fails or the operation is timed out due to a too long time of not connecting with the device. The reason for failure can also be that the device needs a new firmware update.
Check here what can be done the fix the problem and start a new measurement.
Previous measurement still on-going
In case you see the following error message when starting a new measurement, Firstbeat Life has failed to stop your previous measurement correctly.
Start by checking that the app has the most updated version installed to your phone by going to your phone's app store.
Next log out from the app and then back in. Logging out clears all possible errors from the app. Log out by selecting Profile ⟶ Settings ⟶ Log out (scroll to the bottom of the view). After logging back in, try starting a new measurement.
If after logging back in you see that there is a measurement on-going, the app was able to start a new measurement in the background. However, this measurement can't be completed, it needs to be stopped and discarded. Press the ... button from the top right corner of the view and select Abort measurement. After this you can start a new real measurement.
Preparing the measurement fails
This error happens because the phone is not properly connected to the measurement device. A new measurement can't be started until the device pairing has been released and device paired again.
Follow these instructions to release pairing and pair again.
If this does not help, open your phone's Bluetooth menu and remove the device connection from there. After this do not press the device from the phone's Bluetooth devices' list but instead open the Firstbeat Life app and go to Profile ⟶ Profile status ⟶ Measurement device paired. The app should now guide you how to reset the device and fix the pairing. After this try starting a new measurement.
Operation times out
This error means that it took too long to connect with the device, so it got disconnected. The device needs to be rest in order to start a measurement.
Open the Measurement device paired view from the Profile menu and follow the on-screen guidance to reset the device. After this is done, you can start a new measurements.
Measurement device needs a new firmware update
If a new measurement can't be started because the device needs a new firmware update, follow the on-screen guidance to update the device.
After the update you can start a new measurement normally.
