From time to time a new firmware version for the Bodyguard 3 device is released. You can install the new update with the Firstbeat Life app.

Note! Updating the device firmware is not possible while the measurement is on-going. Updating the device will clear the device memory and reset the device, so all the data stored in the memory will be lost. Finish your measurement before starting the update. |
In order to start the firmware update make sure that the device battery charge is at least 40 %. In addition you phone's charge must be more that 30% to start the update.
To start the update open the app and go to Profile ⟶ Profile status ⟶ Measurement device settings.
Press the Update button to start. In the next view you can see the current installed version and what will be the new version.
Press Download update button. Update will be downloaded to your device. Next you need to check that the update can be installed. Press Check requirements button to proceed. If the device or the phone battery is too low to make the update, charge them a bit to proceed.
Once the requirements have been checked and they are okay you can install the update. Press Update firmware to start.
Updating might take several minutes depending on the connection. There might be multiple different steps during the update, where you don't have to press or select anything. You can follow the update progress from the progress bar shown.
| Important! Do not shut down your phone or close the app and keep the device in close proximity of your phone while the firmware update is on-going. This will ensure that the update is successful. |
Once the update is done, you can return back to the app by pressing the red okay button from the bottom of the view.
